支えていけるような教育の場づくりを目指し、今日まで歩んできました。そして、令和元年度からは、これまでの教育活動が認められ、日本政府による援助対象校、在外教育施設「ワイタケレ日本語補習校」となるに至りました。

At first, we were a small group like Terakoya, but as we move forward we aim to create an educational space where we can nurture and support the growth of our children, together with teachers, parents and other people in the community. Since then, our educational activities and efforts have been recognized and Waitakere Japanese Supplementary School attained status as an overseas educational institution targeted for support from the Japanese Government.

「ワイタケレ日本語補習校」では、現地校や家庭内だけでは十分に補うことのできない日本語環境の中での様々なコミュニケーション活動や文化体験を通し、仲間と共に学び、共に育つ喜びを感じられる協同学習の場を提供します。そして、子どもたちが、ワイタケレの雄大な自然の中を飛び交う鳥のように、世界に羽ばたいていけるよう、育み、支援していきます。

At Waitakere Japanese Supplementary School we provide a place of cooperative learning. Here you can experience the joy of learning and growing up with your peers through various communication activities and cultural experiences in a Japanese environment that cannot be fully supplemented by local schools or at home. In addition, children are supported and nurtured so that they can spread their wings in the world like the birds flying around in the majestic nature of the Waitakere.

2014年には、ニュージーランドのNPOの一つであるチャリタブルトラストとしても承認されました。この国の教育団体の一つとして、また西オークランドに根付くコミュニティの一つとして、前進を続けています。

In 2014, the school was also approved as a charitable trust, one of New Zealand’s NPOs. We continue to make progress as an educational organization in New Zealand and as a community rooted in West Auckland.
